MoFA highlights Senator Gary Peters' comment on US-Bangladesh relations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in a statement said that Senator Gary Peters, who is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in the current 118th Congress in US, has posted in his social media page highlighting US-Bangladesh bilateral relations. 

“Pleased to hear that State Department officials will be meeting with leaders in Bangladesh. As an important partner for the US, we must remain committed to supporting human rights and democracy in Bangladesh," he remarked, according to the Facebook post of MoFA.

Senator Peters has been representing the State of Michigan in the US Senate since 2015. 

A large number of Bangladeshi-Americans resides in his constituency and he takes special interest in promoting Bangladesh-US relations, the foreign ministry said.
