Strengthening Sino-Bangladeshi ties

Bangladesh and China have slowly but surely developed a very good relationship, and the time is ripe for Dhaka and Beijing to further cement their ties for mutual benefit.

 

To that end, we welcome the words of Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen and the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka's commitment "to continuing the joint efforts with Bangladeshi friends from all walks of life to promote the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level."

China's ascendancy as a global economic powerhouse is undeniable. Bangladesh, with its burgeoning manufacturing sector and youthful workforce, offers a compelling partner. By strengthening our ties, we unlock a plethora of opportunities, creating a win-win situation.

Infrastructure development is a cornerstone of any nation's progress. China's proven prowess in infrastructure projects is a boon for Bangladesh. Mega projects like the Padma Bridge and its Rail Link, the Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant, and the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Rahman Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River are all instances where China has been by Bangladesh's side to ensure that these are successful and improve the lives and livelihoods of countless Bangladeshis. We expect many more such projects to be initiated in the next two decades.
